FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – Operating troops from the 3rd Special Forces "Arrowhead" Battalion, Philippine Army under the 4th Infantry “Diamond” Division recovered high-powered firearms and assorted paraphernalia in an encounter against New People's Army terrorists on July 20, 2020, at Brgy, Diatagon, Lianga, Surigao Del Sur.
The five-minute firefight between the troops and more or less ten terrorists yielded an AK47 rifle, an M16 rifle, a homemade shotgun, six cellular phones, a tablet computer, a power bank, assorted subversive documents, and personal belongings. Pursuit operations are ongoing.
