NAIA port hits goals  Published 22 hours ago on July 16, 2020 03:00 AM By Anthony Ching  As the nation confronts various challenges through the middle of 2020, the Bureau of Customs’ Port of NAIA operations had sustained efforts to perform its mandate of border protection, trade facilitation and revenue collection. Although trade had slowed down due to the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic, the NAIA port hard to ensure that the revenue collection is prioritized. From January to June 2020 it earned a total of P15.49 billion in revenues which was achieved partly through the implementation of the One-Stop Shop and various online processes. In border protection, from January to June 2020, the port seized 23 shipments of illegal drugs amounting to P48.1 million, P1.3 million worth of illegally imported meat products and watches, P2.5 million worth of illegal Chinese medicines and P1.5 million of undeclared currency.
